  • Eligibility

What reps say about us

All representatives must meet the following criteria before joining our network.
  • Current practising certificate issued by the SRA
  • Police Station Accreditation (PSA) or Probationary Representative status under the Law Society scheme
  • Completed PACE training and at least 12 months of criminal defence experience
  • Ability to attend police stations at short notice, including nights and weekends
  • Enhanced DBS check (we will facilitate this if required)
  • Professional indemnity insurance or coverage under your firm's policy

Once approved, you’ll be added to our secure portal, briefed on our referral process, and placed on the duty rota.

Common questions

Do I need to be affiliated with a specific firm?

No. We work with both employed solicitors (where their firm permits) and self-employed accredited representatives. If you are employed, you will need your firm's permission to take on external instructions.

How are instructions allocated?

Instructions come through our 24/7 control centre. You will receive an alert via our portal or phone. You can accept or pass based on your availability at the time.

What support is available at the police station?

Our control centre is available around the clock for advice. Senior solicitors are on call for complex or serious cases including terrorism, murder, and serious sexual offences.

How and when am I paid?

Legal Aid claims are submitted on your behalf and payment is made monthly. Rates follow the LAA standard fee scheme. Fixed fee breakdowns are available on request.

Can I cover multiple police station areas?

Yes — you can register for multiple geographic areas. We will work with you to build a rota that matches your capacity and location.
